Living

The Marston Vale proposal identifies capacity for about 15,000 new dwellings, across a range of densities.  A balance will be struck between the requirement to use the land efficiently and the desire to create variety and choice for the housing market.  Higher densities will focus on the town centre and each neighbourhood centre whilst low-density living will be made possible along the lake edges and in-between neighbourhoods.

The town centre will be at the eastern end of Brogborough Lake, where we envisage a high density, mixed-use area on the lake edge and connected by a network of waterways.

Around 35% of the new dwellings planned for the Marston Vale will be affordable, across a range of housing densities and tenures.  Affordable housing will be spread throughout each neighbourhood.

Houses for families will be an important part of the proposed mix, with schools, play spaces, sports and health centres, places of worship and local shops nearby.
